So I called Bob Johnson of Mission Viejo to make sure that someone from the Diablos’ football program would call The Times with the result of their game Saturday against Cincinnati Moeller.

‘I’ll do you one better,’ Johnson said. ‘You can watch it live on the internet, ESPN360, $7.95 pay-per-view.’

I’m not saying Johnson missed his calling, but maybe he could have made it in NASCAR or as a boxing promoter.

I think I’m going to pass on the pay-per-view -- Mission Viejo’s going to rock ‘em anyway, aren’t they? -- but if any Diablo supporters want to call in a result, we’ll take it: (213) 237-7151.
