No. 2-ranked Poly upset by Birmingham

Things didn’t gotten any better for Poly in the second half. Milton Knox scored on a one-yard dive for Birmingham with 7:37 to play and then added a two-point conversion run to make it 20-0.

Poly quarterback Morgan Fennell has struggled against an inspired Patriot defense . He was sacked and fumbled the ball away to Malik Jackson with 10:07 to go, leading to Knox’s touchdown.

Poly finally got on the scoreboard with 1:27 left to play on a 24-yard pass from Fennell to Kevin Norrell [at least that’s how the school’s attendance office spells his name, contrary to the football program] and the point after kick was good.

But Birmingham came away with the shocking upset, 20-7.
