After its season-opening 41-20 loss to Corona Centennial, Dominguez switched its starting quarterback from senior Marcus Miller to senior Robert Bragg.

Miller still plays in a reserve role, giving the Dons (2-1) a contrast in styles. Bragg is a runner and scrambler, Miller more of a passer, though he threw two interceptions against Centennial in his first career start.

‘It was a rough way to start,’ Co-coach Keith Donerson said.

The Dons’ inexperienced defensive line, which includes only one returning starter, Klolo Utu, also struggled to hold its own against Centennial, ranked third in the Southland by The Times, but has done better in the team’s ensuing two games.

‘It’s growing pains right now,’ Donerson said.
