With its 55-14 victory over Loyola on Saturday, Concord De La Salle officially has another streak going.
The Spartans (2-0), who fell to Canyon Country Canyon, 27-13, in the CIF Division I state bowl game last December after winning their previous 21 games, putting together a 151-game winning streak that lasted from 1992-2003 and winning their season opener, 40-22, over San Mateo Serra, made it two in a row with the decisive victory over the visiting Cubs.
De La Salle, could have a three-game winning streak by the time it travels to Southern California again. The Spartans play Salinas Palma on Saturday and then will play at Mission Viejo, the No. 5-ranked team in The Times’ poll, on Oct. 6.
