Corona Centennial’s much anticipated game next week against visiting Clovis West took another hit Friday night when Fresno Bullard blocked a field at the end of regulation and defeated Clovis West, 28-25.

Clovis West was already coming off a 27-27 tie against Fresno Edison. Like Centennial, the Eagles were ranked among the top 50 teams in the nation before the setbacks. Now, they’re not even the top dog in Fresno.

The Eagles played without a number of healthy players, most notably running back Matt Jelmini and linebacker Anthony Elliott, but school officials were pretty hush-hush about their status.
