... and no SGV teams are in it again. However, there is a glimmer of hope, SGV fans.

Los Altos.

The Conquerors (3-0) appeared in the ‘others’ category for the first time this season.

I said it earlier in September, if Los Altos is still undefeated after playing @ Damien, @ St. Francis, @ Western, South Hills, @ Diamond Ranch and Charter Oak -- yes, they play those team in consecutive weeks -- then they’ll be in the Times’ top 25 poll. Maybe even among the top 15.

That’s a tough schedule, but it’s not just who they are playing but how they are playing -- outscoring their opponents, 105-27. They also have a star player in Bryce Mahmud-McBride and that makes it easier to focus on them too.

With that said, here are my SGV-only rankings.

1- Los Altos (3-0)...Clearly best in SGV right now.2- Charter Oak (2-1)...Imagine if they had beaten Upland?3- Diamond Ranch (2-1)...They host No. 21 Oaks Chrisitan next week, play at Ayala this week.4- Glendora (2-1)...Size didn’t matter.5- Bishop Amat (1-3)...Now, make it two in a row, boys.6- Damien (2-2)...Chance to bounce back, or sink further, against Charter Oak.7- Alhambra (3-0)...Was Arroyo (2-1) really undefeated?8- Arcadia (3-0)...Crack top 10 in a big way after big victory over Lynwood.9- Schurr (2-1)...Host Southeast Division rival California (3-0) next.10- South Hills (1-2)...Got first win, SGVT reporter then picks them to lose to Fullerton. How low can the Huskies go? Others: San Dimas (3-0), Maranatha (2-1), St. Francis (2-1).
