Down, 10-0, Corona Centennial quieted Mater Dei fans behind the play of quarterback Matt Scott, who ran 78 yards on an option play to the Mater Dei 10. Two plays later, Ryan Bass ran in from the two, and it’s 10-7, with 1:23 left in the first quarter.

The Monarchs then drove to the Centennial two-yard line as Matt Barkley completed passes of 27 and 20 yards. That’s where Centennial made its stand, tearing the ball away from Robert Mojica and recovering the fumble. The first quarter is over, and, boy, do we have a game.
