Defending champion: Mission Viejo

How it shakes out: San Clemente (4-1) and QB Brad Curtis have their best chance in years to unseat Mission Viejo (3-2), which hasn’t lost three games in one season since 2000.

Behind junior QB Allan Bridgford, pictured left, the Diablos are favored to win their eighth consecutive league title. It’s tough to pick against Mission, which has won 35 consecutive league games.

The real battle is for third place: Don’t discount Dana Hills (0-5) and Aliso Niguel making a run at Capistrano Valley (4-1).
