This week it’s Los Altos (4-1) vs. South Hills (3-2), but, in reality, it’s Bryce Mahmud-McBride vs. Dorian Wells. Yes, other players will be on the field, but those two are the main draw.

The SGVT wrote a nice story about how transfers McBride and Wells are doing at their new schools leading up to Friday’s game.

The former Bishop Amat standouts have combined for 1,904 all-purpose yards and 19 touchdowns. Mahmud-McBride has surpassed the 1,000-yard rushing mark. These two are the engines for their teams’ offenses, without question.

But imagine they had stayed at Bishop Amat (1-4). How much better would the Lancers be? Probably at least 3-2 with a chance at a 6-4 season. Instead, they will likely finish 1-9.

The Lancers have generated 1,158 yards of total offense, which is only 231 yards a game. Mahmud-McBride has generated 1,043, and that’s not including his 26 passing or 206 returning yards, and is averaging 211 a game.
