Dons are just following orders

Perhaps taking their cue from Kathleen Simmons, the mother of Dominguz linebackers Maurice and Marquis Simmons when she told the Dons to win the game after Maurice suffered a leg injury and was taken off the field in an ambulance, Dominguez has jumped on previously unbeaten Gahr for a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter.

The Gladiators’ high-powered offense, with state passing leader Corey Nielsen at the cntrols, was hardly on the field.

This is what happens when the competition suddenly is tougher and better than any faced to date.

Dominguez (3-2) is ranked No. 17 in the Southland, and, so far, the Dons are living up to that status.
