Davion Biddle and Marcus Darden each scored two rushing touchdowns in the first half as Dominguez took a 34-0 lead and never looked back in a San Gabriel Valley League opener Friday night at Dominguez.

Senior Manoah Wesson also scored twice for the Dons (4-2, 1-0) on long, acrobatic pass receptions from Robert Bragg.

Wesson’s last catch, in the final minute of the third quarter, followed a 43-yard scoring run by senior Robert Hill and gave the Dons their final margin of victory.

The only low point of the game for Dominguez came with 8:59 to go in the first quarter, when senior linebacker Maurice Simmons was taken off the field in an ambulance after he suffered an injury to his left leg.

Dominguez co-coach Keith Donerson had not received an update immediately after the game but said he believed the injury to be a broken tibia that would keep Simmons, who has committed to USC, out for the rest of the season.

The only sustained drive for Gahr (4-2) occurred at the end of the first half.

A connection between state passing leader Corey Nielsen and receiver Aaron Bradley put the Gladiators on the Dominguez three-yard line, but the Dons stuffed a run on the next play and time ran out.
