If you were battling the rain at your team’s game tonight and not at home in front of your TV, be sure to check if the Prime game of the week between Foothill League rivals Hart and Canyon Country Canyon game is going to be replayed anytime soon on your cable system.

You gotta see it to believe it!

Oh, you can wait till the very end, but you don’t want to miss golfer, that’s right, golfer Johnny MacArthur’s 43-yard field goal into the wind and rain with no time left to give Hart to a 31-28 victory.

Hart was cruising along, 28-6, after three quarters but Canyon came storming back to tie. Foothill League games don’t go to overtime, and neither team seemed interested in settling for a tie as long passes went up and were intercepted. MacArthur set up his own heroics with the last interception of the night on the Hart 16 with 13 seconds left. Delano Howell broke off an improbable 58-yard run to the Cowboys’ 26, stepping out of bounds wit 0.05 seconds left -- just enough time for McArthur to hit his ‘chip shot.’

Wow!

Read Times’ prep columnist Eric Sondheimer’s account of the game on the Varsity Times web site later tonight and in the paper tomorrow. Just incredible.
