Servite takes control in third quarter

Santa Margarita needed to establish itself early in the third quarter but couldn’t.

Servite finally made them pay with a 60-yard drive late in the quarter. DJ Shoemate, who began the drive with a 15-yard run, scored from four yards to make it 20-7 with 1:19 left.

Before the quarter ended, the Eagles dropped a couple of passes -- one of them a deep ball -- then come up empty on a fake punt.
