Girls’ volleyball: When it comes to questions, Los Alamitos has answers

Damian Calhoun of the Register takes a look at the first half of the volleyball season. Among the things he considers has been the re-emergence of Katie Crosby-led Los Alamitos, a perennial power that continues to be good no matter how many players graduate; and the only unbeaten team in the Trinity League, Orange Lutheran, led by Lauren Corp.

Laguna Beach was the highest-finishing Orange County representative at the California Challenge. Mira Costa was the winner, followed by San Jose Mitty, Torry Pines and La Costa Canyon.

In the newest Southern Section rankings, Mira Costa is No. 1 in Division I, followed by Los Alamitos and Newport Harbor. Laguna Beach and Corona del Mar are 1-2 in Division II-AA.
