The Southwestern League might wait until Friday morning before determining whether its three games will be played Friday night, according to Mike Rowan, boys’ athletic director at Chaparral, who I caught up with late Thursday morning.

The Pumas are scheduled to host Vista Murrieta, Temescal Canyon is at Great Oak and Murrieta Valley is at Temecula Valley. All three games are scheduled to be hosted by schools within the Temecula Valley Unified School District, but Rowan said just because school is not in session tomorrow doesn’t mean the games won’t be played.

Canceled, however, is the live television coverage of the Vista Murrieta at Chaparral game that was scheduled to be provided by FSN Prime Ticket.

Rowan is in Hemet, following the Southwestern League girls’ golf final, but I’ve got his cell phone number and permission to call whenever I want. Hope it’s not during a backswing!
