Baldwin Park beat Pomona, 33-22, last night in Pomona to stay unbeaten in the Valle Vista league. Having beaten previously undefeated San Dimas last week, the Braves control their destiny as far as league title aspirations go.

I still can’t agree with the decision to play this game, however.

Times’ stats guru, Eric Maddy, told me yesterday that a reason BP might have played the game is because four years ago (during a similar situation), Baldwin Park was ‘inexplicably’ given a forefeit loss against Ganesha for not playing the game.

That’s a great theory, and I wouldn’t doubt that it played a role in the school’s decision to play this time aroudnd, but ... safety first, fellas. safety first.
