The fate of many games is still to be decided in the I.E. today, but here’s a few things I know:

Yucaipa has moved its Citrus Belt League game against Fontana to Palm Springs High. That’s the second CBL team to take advantage of the hospitality of its low desert friends. Redlands East Valley made plans earlier in the week to play Carter at La Quinta instead of University of Redlands. By the way, Yucaipa alumni, the halftime homecoming festivities have been postponed a week.

The Rancho Verde vs. Moreno Valley game, which is also homecoming for Rancho Verde, is still on for tonight at the present time, but a decision will be made later today whether to postone the Inland Valley League rivalry. The athletic secretary said the air quality Friday morning was better than Thursday.

I wrote yesterday, after talking with Moreno Valley boys’ Athletic Director Patrick McDaniel, that the game would only be made up if it could be played Saturday. But a few hours later, I spoke with Kevin Stipp, boys’ athletic director at Rancho Verde, and he said the teams would consider playing Monday as well.

The Mustangs have their toughest opponent coming up next week, a nonleague game Friday at Norco, and turns out the Cougars already had their Mountain View League game at Corona postponed to Monday. I guess it will be easier moving the game to Monday if Rancho Verde knows Norco will also have a short week.

Silverado at Barstow in the Desert Sky League, and Serrano at Apple Valley in the Mojave River League, have been postponed until Monday, and the nonleague game between Hesperia and host Victor Valley has been canceled.
