Del Rio League does the right thing

I like the Del Rio League plan for postponed games better than that of the many leagues playing on Monday.

La Serna will be at California and Santa Fe will be at Pioneer at 7 p.m. Saturday, a preferable alternative to those teams playing early next week, when they will have to play twice in a matter of five or six days.

If at all possible, this is what every school affected by fires or the resulting poor air quality should have done. Games can always be stopped on site if conditions truly are bad, dangerous or unworkable.

Schools’ reluctance to schedule on Saturday, in some instances, at least, seems more a matter of not wanting to work/go to school in the middle of a weekend, or else to assign others to do so.

And, well, probably like any school kid, I can certainly understand that. But then again, these are special circumstances.
