On pins and needles

There are, no doubt, a lot of people sitting by the phone, awaiting word on whether their football games will go on today in the wake of fires and smoke warnings that have affected much of Southern California this week.

I know this because I’ve already talked to two of them.

Coaches at Dominguez are awaiting a decision by the Paramount Unified School District to see if a game at Paramount will take place. A conference of school officials was scheduled for 10 a.m.

And Gahr officials are expected to make a decision at a meeting scheduled for noon today. The Gladiators are scheduled to host Warren tonight.

I guess all we can do is, well, hurry up and wait.
