Tim Burt is reporting tonight for the OC Register that Woodbridge will forfeit its game Monday against Trabuco Hills. That is in line with what I had heard yesterday, that one principal in the league did not want to play this weekend’s Sea View League games.

Burt also indicated that Northwood is considering doing the same against Foothill, though when I spoke to Rick Curtis yesterday, he gave no indication that he wanted that to happen. Curtis is the coach at Northwood.

If true, it’s worth noting that Woodbridge and Northwood are both winless. They are apparently hoping that other teams in the league, including El Toro and Huntington Beach, agree to cancel games rather than accept the forfeiture.

IIn that power play, the only teams that would be hurt would be the loser of the one game that would be played; if two schools want out, games probably will be canceled. Huntington Beach and first-place El Toro, have too much to lose if either does, indeed, lose.
