Well, it looks like ‘The Charitable One,’ I mean, ‘The Great One,’ scored another goal on Saturday. But before you start breaking out the NHL record book to write ‘895’ where ‘894’ is, just know Wayne Gretzky‘s latest biscuit in the basket had more to do with high school baseball than hockey.

Wayne and Janet Gretzky‘s estate sale raised more than $200,000 for two local schools, with a large portion of the proceeds going toward the construction of a new baseball stadium at Oaks Christian. The Hockey Hall of Famer’s upscale garage sale also benefited programs at Carden Conejo School.

Check out what I blogged earlier to see all the specific improvements the money will bring to the new baseball stadium this spring.

And all of this is possible because the $150,000 goal Oaks Christian set before the sale has been hit like the back of the net on a Gretzky breakaway.

Gretzky memorabilia hunters started lining up outside the Bedrosian Pavilion at Oaks Christian around 5:30 a.m. to get first dibs on the loads of home furnishings, recreational vehicles, clothing, limited-edition signed bottles of Wayne Gretzky Estate Wines and autographed jerseys for sale.

Gretzky’s son, Trevor, plays on the Oaks Christian freshman football team and will play baseball for the Lions.

And if you don’t know what a hockey goal looks like, here’s Gretzky showing off how he scored 50 goals in 39 games back in 1981:
