Anaheim Esperanza fell from the unbeaten ranks Monday night, losing to Huntington Beach Edison, 9-7, in a game that looked every bit like two teams who hadn’t practiced in four days.

Esperanza lost three fumbles. Edison quarterback Nick Crissman was out of sync, missing on six consecutive passes at one point in the second half.

But the defenses hit hard and played well, and Edison is in position to claim second place in the Sunset League unless Esperanza can upset Los Alamitos on Friday.
