It has been a while since Redlands East Valley has been challenged, but that could change Friday night when the Wildcats host Miller in a clash of unbeaten Citrus Belt League teams at University of Redlands.

The Rebels are led by do-it-all quarterback A.J. Springer, who has rushed for a team-high 1,245 yards and 18 touchdowns and thrown for 1,302 yards and 14 touchdowns. In a 35-14 victory over Redlands on Saturday afternoon at Charter Oak High, he had 154 yards passing and 144 yards rushing. Now that’s balance.

Redlands East Valley is led by running back Chris Polk, pictured, who has done less balancing this season but more of a role reversal. Polk, who played receiver the last two seasons, rushed for five more touchdowns Friday night in a 49-7 victory over Carter at La Quinta High. Polk, who has committed to USC, now has 58 touchdowns in his three-year career, 36 rushing and 22 receiving.
