Ayala jumped to a quick 14-0 lead, but Glendora has come back to tie it at 14-14 at halftime.

The Glendora side of Cerritos College’s stadium is almost filled to capacity. There’s a big crowd here tonight, and the majority is in line at the snack stand or bathroom -- at lest it feels that way because the line I’m in isn’t moving.

The Tartans began their comeback when they started to blitz QB Matt Baca with more frequency. Glendora LB Chad Young is having a monster game. His hit on Baca early in the second quarter forced a fumble, which he recovered and led to the Tartans’ first touchdown, on a fourth-and-goal 22-yard pass to sophomore B.J. Gonzalez.

The pressure on Baca continued and the Tartans eventually tied the score with less than two minutes left in the second quarter.

If I was Ayala’s coach, I would have attempted more running plays, but I guess you go with what got you here.

Glendora has a good front seven and should feast on Baca unless some adjustment is made for the second half.

It’s almost midnight, Ayala, watcha gonna do?
