DeShawn Grayson leaped into the end zone for a one-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter to give Rancho Verde a 7-0 lead over host Norco. The Mustangs aren’t holding anything back. They converted a fourth and one at their own 39 on the scoring drive and converted another fourth and one at the Norco 30.

Rancho Verde is playing without it’s leading receiver, Andrew Bouvay, who missed some practices this week, according to Kevin Stipp, boys’ athletic director.

Stipp just said, ‘Now we’re in trouble, our kicker is playing safety.’

On the next play, Norco quarterback Josh Foley broke off a nice run to inside the Rancho Verde five-yard line, but I think the free safety saved the touchdown. Foley just ran into the end zone from the three, however, and the score is tied, 7-7, with 5:26 remaining in the first half.
