Like most people, I live here, down south, and we don’t hear much about high school football up north, particularly in San Luis Obispo County. But there’s a good game this week, one worth going to see if you’re in that neck of the woods, a showdown between bitter rivals Paso Robles and Atascadero with the Pac-7 League title at stake in the regular-season finale.

First-place Paso Robles (8-1 overall) is led by running backs Nathan Nelson and Josh Weferling, and the tandem was impressive last week in a 56-35 victory over San Luis Obispo. Take a look at what SanLuisObispo.com had to say about the game. The Greyhounds(7-2), a game behind in the standings, counter with the one man show of Nick Tenhaeff.

Now, I’ve never been one to make predictions, and I’m not going to start now. I’ll leave that stuff up to the experts. Calpreps.com thinks Atascadero is going to pull out a 30-28 victory. I imagine it’s going to be a good game regardless. It always is when these two get together.
