Canyon’s Thomas streaks into select company

Jordan Thomas completed 19 of 21 passes for 298 yards and four touchdowns as Anaheim Canyon posted a 42-19 victory over Brea Olinda on Saturday.

Both teams, along with El Modena and Tustin, are in a four-way tie for second in the Century League behind El Dorado.

Thomas completed his first 17 passes, a streak that placed him in the Southern Section Record Book for consecutive pass completions. He is tied for fourth with J.C. Castaneda of L.A. Cathedral, who did it twice in 1995, against Bell-Jeff and Keppel.

Paul Gagliardi of La Canada in 1978 and Hudson Gossard of Crescenta Valley in 2000 (coincidentally against La Canada) share the record of 20. Gagliardi performed the feat against San Marino.

Tyler Lyon of Hart completed 19 in a row in a 2004 game against Burbank.
