Some high school football players in Utah aren’t exactly behaving like choir boys this fall.

The latest black eye came last Friday, when an all-out brawl erupted with two minutes left in a state playoff game between American Fork and West Valley City Hunter.

American Fork, whose mascot is, appropriately, the Cavemen, won the game, 41-19, but will be without three starters, including two that go both ways, for its state semifinal game Friday night. Hunter walked away scott free because its season is over.

At least you can pass this incident off as, ‘boys being boys.’ I’m not sure how to classify this disturbing case involving football players from Salt Lake City East earlier this season.

Whatever happened to the days when the worst thing anybody did was tape a teammate to the squat rack?
