Barkley looking forward to the playoffs

A coin flip tomorrow at 8 a.m. at St. John Bosco High will determine where the three leaders from the Trinity League will be seeded for the Pac-5 playoffs, but Mater Dei quarterback Matt Barkley, pictured left, could care less about those results.

‘I know that whoever we are playing next Friday is going to get beat,’ he said.

The Monarchs lost to Orange Lutheran last week, but talk of their demise was extremely premature. They are still one of the top four teams in the Southland and proved that with a decisive 38-13 victory over rival Servite, tying the Friars and Lancers atop the league’s standings.
