One half is in the books, and, so far. Tesoro has proved it can hang with Mission Viejo. But a lot of fans can’t. About 500 were unable to get inside the stadium on the Mission Viejo campus. They’re lined up outside the fence. Obviously.

Mission Viejo scored with 20 seconds left to take a 13-7 lead into the break. A potential big play was made by Ryan Vanderford, who blocked Nathan Casey’s PAT attempt. It was a nice 75-yard drive that was aided by an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Allan Bridgford passed five yards to Warren Reuland. They also hooked up for a 35-yard score with four minutes left in the first quarter to tie the score at 7-7.

Harold Williams scored on Tesoro’s first possession on a five-yard run. He also caught a 43-yard pass from Robbie Picazo.
