It’s official. At least, it’s close to being official. Amani Butler of Colony plans on signing a letter of intent Wednesday afternoon to play women’s basketball at Arizona, choosing the Wildcats despite receiving recruiting interest from Colorado, Oregon and UCLA.

The 5-foot-7 senior guard was the Southern Section Division III-A co-player of the year a season ago after averaging 14.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 3.6 steals a game for the Titans. Butler’s versatility figures to increase her chances of playing right away at the next level.
