Made the 80-mile drive out here to Chaparral in a little more than two hours. Ever since my 3 1/2-hour crawl out here a few weeks ago to watch the Pumas host Riverside North, I don’t even bother getting on the 91 freeway from the O.C. I’d rather take the circuitous route up the 60 freeway to the 15.

Los Osos should give Chaparral a stiff test in this Inland Division first-round game, if not topple the Pumas altogether.

Sure are a lot of people throwing footballs on the sideline here. Some high school girl just hid behind me so her guy friend wouldn’t drill her with a pass. Just what I need. An earhole shot while fingering my blogberry.

Chaparral has a big blue inflated helmet that the players run through before the start of each half. I think Santa Margarita was the first team I saw do that. I wonder how much those things go for?

‘Hells Bells’ is cranking from a speaker that, for some reason, I stood in front of. Good thing I like this song.
Awesome weather, by the way. This part of SoCal seems to produce extreme temperatures. The coldest game I ever attended was down the freeway at Temescal Canyon, so I tend to overdress when I come out here.

Looks like it’s time for the national anthem, so I’m checking out for now.
