It’s, like, deja vu in the Pac-5 quarterfinals

Thanks to Orange Lutheran’s 28-7 victory over Mission Viejo and Edison’s 28-10 win over Compton, next week’s quarterfinals will feature a rematch of last year’s Pac-5 championship game between the Lancers and the Chargers.

In case you have forgotten, Aaron Corp, pictured, led Orange Lutheran to a 30-20 victory at the Home Depot Center. Corp, now at USC, accounted for all four of the Lancers’ touchdowns. You can watch the highlights of that game here.

Edison Coach Dave White probably won’t be watching much film from that game.

‘They are a little different team and we are a little different,’ he said. ‘We are going to have to play our best game of the year to beat them. But you know, anyone is capable of doing that on any given night.’

The key to this season’s meeting, much like it was last year, is going to be Edison’s defense against Orange Lutheran’s offense. Last year, the Chargers did a good job, but Corp, The Times’ player of the year, was just too much.

‘We want revenge,’ said Edison’s ‘Mr. Three Touchdowns’ -- running back Areseo Lakey.

Lakey scored three touchdowns in the Chargers victory over Compton at Huntington Beach High and obviously can’t wait to face the Lancers, who will be the host team next Friday night.
