El Dorado looked great (the Golden Hawks beat Rowland, 40-7), as did Charter Oak (a 40-0 victory over Norwalk) and Foothill (a 52-14 victory over Bonita).

But no score impressed me more than South Hills’ 59-33 victory over La Mirada. I knew the Huskies had firepower, but I didn’t know they had that much ammo.

There were two upsets on the night. The first was delivered by West Covina, which beat Anaheim Canyon, 28-21, and the second was by Hacienda Height Wilson, which topped Mayfair, 21-13. (I’m eating crow because of this one.)

Because of West Covina’s victory, Charter Oak won’t have to travel too far for their quarterfinal game. There’s still one more game to be played Saturday night, but here’s what next Friday’s quarterfinals look like tonight:

El Dorado at winner of tomorrow’s El Toro/Bellflower game.
Foothill at South Hills (I’m guessing Covina District Stadium)
Trabuco Hills at H.H. Wilson (I’m guessing H.H. Wilson High)
Charter Oak at West Covina (I have no idea, does anyone have a clue where this game will be played?)
