Do referees have a flag quota during the playoffs?

For the second straight playoff game, the zebras have had more of an impact than any of the players.

Last Friday, I watched the refs throw flags left and right, including two that brought back touchdown runs by Los Osos, which eventually lost to Chaparral, 10-7.

Tonight, the laundry is all over the field and Banning just had a 91-yard interception return for a touchdown called back for illegal use of hands during the return.

The Pilots were able to move into scoring position, but fumbled the ball away.

Michael Ponce, the junior quarterback who replaced inneffective starter Anthony Rodriguez in the first half, replaced Rodriguez after he was intercepted on the first series of the second half. He promptly led the Pilots on another touchdown drive. Unfortunately, they tried for two points and were stopped, leaving the Colts with a 21-12 lead.

Carson just added a 37-yard field goal to take a 24-12 lead with 7:35 left in the game.
