Carson-Banning fans let their allegiances be known

They take this Carson-Banning rivalry serious over here in the City Section. As players took the field for pregame warmups before the Championship Division quarterfinal at Carson, the fans booed the other team loudly. You won’t hear that at Corona Centennial vs. Norco. Probably because they haven’t played 57 times over the years.

Anyway, it’s good to get out of the Inland Empire for the night. Or, should I say, it’s good not to drive into the IE for a change?

These teams played each other only 13 days ago and Carson won convincingly, 21-0, at Veterans Stadium.

Carson brought in extra bleachers and placed them behind each end zone to increase the capacity from 3,000 to 4,000 fans.

It’s about 45 minutes before game time and me and the Carson band are the only ones occupying the auxillary bleachers.
