Is it too late to get to Norco?

Travell Washington of Colton has scored three touchdowns in the first 13 minutes to help the third-seeded Yellowjackets to a 20-0 lead over visiting Rancho Verde in a Central Division quarterfinal.

OK, Daniel Jenkins of Rancho Verde just ran back a kickoff to cut the deficit to 20-7, so I think I’ll stick around a little longer.

Washington, all 5-foot-6, 160 pounds of him, capped a game-opening eight-play, 70-yard drive with a 17-yard touchdown run.

The Mustangs then drove the length of the field and Deshawn Grayson had run for a first down when he was stripped of the ball at the Colton five-yard line. Washington was there to scoop it up and he returned it 95 yards for a touchdown.

Washington then scored on an 88-yard pass play from quarterback Nick Vasquez to make it 20-0. About the only thing Washington has done wrong is drop two easy interceptions, but he’s in the right spot.

Rancho Verde’s defense finally made a stop so let’s see if the offense can put some points on the scoreboard.
