In one quick swoop, the three teams from San Luis Obispo county left in the postseason were eliminated Friday night in the divisional quarterfinals.

I knew Paso Robles and Atascadero would hit the wall against Hart and Saugus, but top-seeded Morro Bay‘s 48-45 double-overtime loss to St. Bernard was probably the most shocking regional score of the night outside of Crespi‘s crushing Pac-5 Division triumph over Mater Dei.

I picked Morro Bay to win the Northwest Division title, and I thought St. Bernard would be a walk in the park for the Pirates. Now it looks like the winner of next week’s Oak Park-Oaks Christian semifinal will be the top dog in the Northwest heading to the Home Depot Center in two weeks. Although Nordhoff (which tied Oaks Christian and Oak Park for the Tri-Valley League title) could be a threat if it gets past St. Bernard in the semifinals.

But who knows? After these kinds of upsets, anything can happen.
