Mira Costa continued its march to a fourth consecutive state title with a 25-10, 25-20, 25-12 victory over visiting Bakersfield Centennial in a Division II semifinal match Saturday.

The top-seeded Mustangs will host Bay League rival and second-seeded Redondo, a winner over visiting Bakersfield Liberty, in a Southern California regional final tonight/Tuesday.

Other Southland teams advancing to tonight’s/Tuesday’s regional finals are Lakewood in Division I and Harvard-Westlake and Laguna Beach in Division III.

Fourth-seeded Lakewood, which upset top-seeded La Costa Canyon, 28-26, 18-25, 11-25, 25-20, 21-19, on Saturday travels to second-seeded Clovis Buchanan, while top-seeded Harvard-Westlake hosts second-seeded Laguna Beach.

Redondo hasn’t had much luck against Mira Costa this season, dropping two league matches and then losing in the Southern Section Division II-A final, 25-19, 25-18, 25-22.

Last season, the Sea Hawks upset Mira Costa in the section final, only to lose in the regional final to the Mustangs, who went on to beat San Jose Mitty, 25-21, 25-23, 25-22, for their third consecutive state Division II final. Mira Costa also won the Division I title in 2004.

This year’s state championships will be held Saturday at San Jose State.
