Bobby Wheatley is poised to be a hero. Blake Hyepock was injured on a seven-yard run with a little over 10 minutes left in the second quarter. That means Wheatley is getting his chance. A sophomore who was beaten out for the job at the beginning of the season, Wheatley now becomes a wild card for Orange Lutheran.

Can he fulfill the Lancer game plan?

Does he bring something to the table that Poly is not ready to deal with?

Is he Ken Stabler in Lancer clothing?

That’s right, Wheatley’s a lefty. And he looked sharp on his first pass.

A little rattled and tackled for a loss on his next.

It could get interesting if Hyepock is unable to return.

Coaches talk about it all the time. You have to be ready for your opportunity.

Pass interference on Wheatley’s third pass attempt.

Like I said, he’s a wild card. Lutheran is moving the ball.
