German Fernandez of Riverbank, who broke a 21-year-old course record at the state championships last Saturday at Woodward Park in Fresno, finished first today/Saturday at the Footlocker Cross-Country West Regional at Mt. San Antonio College.

Competing on an alternate three-mile course because of muddy conditions, Fernandez crossed the finish line in 14 minutes 53 seconds. He was followed by Luke Puskedra of Salt Lake City (Utah) Judge Memorial in 15:08 and Stephen Clark of Salt Lake City Skyline in 15:14.
