Pendulum swings, and ... it’s ‘The Pit’ for Western Division title-decider

The choice was made -- take it to ‘The Pit,’ home turf of the St. Paul Swordsmen and one of the more unfriendly environs for opposing football teams. It’s claustrophobic, it’s dank, it’s intimidating. Hence, the name.

So now, the high-flying Palmdale Falcons must trek two hours or so to the Swordsmens’ stadium and play for the Western Division crown on Friday night. Doesn’t matter to their coach. Just listen ...

‘Ah, hell,’ Palmdale Coach Jeff Williams said. ‘We have to play somewhere so it might as well be there. We’ll just make it our home.’

Perfect attitude, wouldn’t you say?
