Bishop Montgomery basketball, both boys and girls’ squads who are a combined 7-1 to start the season.

The boys -- ranked No. 11 in the preseason by The Times -- are 4-1 after going 25-4 last season. They’ve returned all five starters, including Del Rey League MVP Leland Jones.

The Lady Knights are 3-0 and have already upset two ranked teams -- No. 13 Marlborough and No. 23 Brentwood.
