Long Beach Poly girls’ basketball is a constellation of stars

Totally dig what Earl Williams of the Press-Telegram has dubbed the Lady Jackrabbits: ‘A caravan of traveling basketball All-Stars.’ Couldn’t have said it better, Earl. And, as he noted in his article yesterday, Poly is nationally ranked either No. 1 or 2 in nearly every magazine or Web site.

This season, go check out this constellation of All-Stars...

Jasmine Dixon, headed for Rutgers next year; April Cook (Washington State), Kelli Thompson, twins Ashley and Brittany Wilson, Nicolette Brown, Thaddesia Southall and Janae Perkins. There’s also the arrival of much-ballyhooed Monique Oliver from Las Vegas and Ariya Williams, one of the top incoming freshman guards in the Southland.

On the road for most of the month in Arizona, Ohio and Minnesota, the next time you can see the Jackrabbits play locally won’t be until Jan. 7, when they play host to Millikan in a Moore League game.
