I’ve been trying to get in touch with Crespi Coach Jeremiah Ross all day to confirm some hear-say that senior QB Kevin Prince, who hasn’t played since suffering a torn ACL in the season opener, will suit up Saturday in the second-seeded Celts’ Pac-5 Divisional title game against top-seeded Long Beach Poly.

Prince, pictured, appeared in full pads during practice this week. Of course, don’t expect Prince to start this one -- there’s no way he has completely recovered from the surgery he had to repair his torn ACL a little over a month ago. He was still on crutches during the semifinal victory over third-seeded Servite.

Plus, QB Bryan Bennett has earned his rightful spot under center in the biggest game of the season. Look for Prince to continue his primary role as sideline mentor for the sophomore QB.

The move to get Prince back in uniform may be more ceremonial than anything else. After all, he’s played a valuable role in the success of the program over the last three years. However, don’t be totally shocked if No. 11 somehow makes it onto the field Saturday night.
