Girls basketball: Redondo upsets No. 2 Miller, Lynwood next

Atonye Nyingifa said before the season began that she thought reports of her team’s demise were greatly exaggerated. After No. 11 Redondo’s 64-59 victory Friday over No. 2 Fontana Miller, she may be right. She scored 29 points and will lead the Sea Hawks into the finals of their first-year tournament against No. 8 Lynwood, which trailed going into the fourth quarter of its 46-35 victory over Bishop Montgomery.

The title game at Redondo is slated for 8 tonight.
