In other years, a 3-1 record in the competitive Westchester Tip-Off Classic boys’ basketball tournament would be considered impressive for Los Angeles Jordan. But not when you’re coming off a 25-4 season, and have played Westchester and Crenshaw tough in the playoffs the past two seasons.

‘We have expectations now,’ Coach Vander Myers said after the Bulldogs (4-4) defeated Gardena, 84-71, in the consolation championship game on Saturday. ‘I don’t think we played as good as we could have. I wanted a chance to play Dominguez, but we lost to Washington. I’d feel better if that loss was to Dominguez.’
