State bowl games: Update from the north

Despite five touchdown passes from Cody Vaz, Stockton St. Mary’s fell, 38-36, to Napa in the Sac-Joaquin Section Division I title game this afternoon at University of the Pacific.

St. Mary’s would have been the front-runner for the north berth to the state Division II bowl championship game with a victory. With the Rams eliminated from contention, that berth will likely go to either Palo Cedro Foothill (12-0), the Northern Section Division I champion, or Novato (13-0), the North Coast Section 2A champion.
