Nyingifa celebrates win -- and birthday

All this football craziness might have caused you to skip over something or somebody like Atonye Nyingifa, the girls’ basketball star at Redondo.

Nyingifa scored 22 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, pocketed the Redondo tournament’s MVP hardware and led the No. 11-ranked Sea Hawks (4-0) to a 50-41 victory over No. 8 Lynwood (3-1) in the finals Saturday night. Oh, and, most importantly, she celebrated her 17th birthday.

So, one more thing, happy birthday, Antonye.
