Couldn’t the CIF schedule that Division II state championship bowl game between Oceanside and Novato, pictured, for another time slot? How ‘bout next Tuesday morning?

Who wants to watch those second-tier teams play paddy-cake inside Home Depot Center after we’ve been on the edge of our seats for St. Bonaventure and Central Catholic in the earlier Division III game?

And there’s no way anybody will leave early, not with Corona Centennial and Concord De La Salle waiting to face off that night in an epic matchup.

Where’s Mater Dei, Servite, Orange Lutheran, Crespi? Even Novato is lucky to be here. That bid should have gone to Palo Cedro Foothill.

I saw on Fox’s bowl-selection show that Novato claims Mettalica singer James Hetfield as one of its alums. Well, somebody got that wrong too because anybody who has lived in Orange County since the Nixon days knows Hetfield went to Brea Olinda.

Petros Papadakis might be able to fake it, but Oceanside could put Junior Seau back in uniform and this game still wouldn’t excite me.
